Paisagens Acessíveis is a project that transforms Coimbra’s public space through a series of ephemeral architectural installations designed and built by students. Rooted in the principles of accessibility and universal design, it proposes new ways of inhabiting the city by activating lesser-seen urban spaces. The workshop was organised by Há Baixa in collaboration with the Department of Architecture, University of Coimbra, and encouraged learning through making, civic engagement, and collective creation as tools to rethink the relationship between architecture, the body, and the territory. It resulted in four temporary structures located throughout Coimbra, at Largo do Romal, the University Press garden, Rua da Matemática, and the College of Arts courtyard.
